At Point McKay Dental, we understand that emergencies can happen! We have seen it all, and we know the importance of dealing with a dental emergency in a timely manner. We also know that a dental emergency can be a frightening time. We care about our patients, and we want to make sure that we are available to help you, your family, and your friends with a dental emergency should one arise unexpectedly. If you are unsure whether something is a dental emergency or not, we offer this advice: if it hurts, it is an emergency! Point McKay Dental considers any situation in which you are experiencing pain or discomfort as a dental emergency. This is because even injuries that seem superficial or small can still affect the living tissue inside of the tooth.

If you experience any of the following, please contact our office immediately for assistance:

• A tooth (or teeth) that has been knocked out
• Teeth that have been chipped, cracked, broken or fractured
• Soft tissue injuries such as biting your lip or tongue
• Loose teeth
• A loss of a tooth
• An infection that has resulted in an abscess of the teeth or gums that is causing pain that is not controlled with over-the-counter pain medications
• Damage to existing restoration such as a dental crown, filling or bridge
• Pain and/or discomfort after recent dental treatment
• Any bleeding from the mouth
• A loss of a crown
